The name "Kriegerstein" means "Rock of the Warrior" in German, but we can even find a "Krugerstein" version of the name in past, which means "Jug (Ewer or Pitcher) Rock". This vineyard became part of the Lobkowicz property at the end of 18th century when it was bought by Prince Anton Josef Lobkowicz. It is an ideal location for late harvested Rieslings that are the base for great sparkling wines.
